Twin Turbo Project
This page will chronicle the transition from a
Paxton NOVI 2000 to a Cartech Twin Dominator T-70 setup. The two T-70s
should far exceed the power output of the NOVI 2000. I'll also be adding a
Vortech Igloo cooler and BigStuff3.
March '05:
I stumbled across this barely-used Twin
T-70 kit on a local message board for a decent price:

Here are a few shots of one turbo:

There are a few drawbacks to this kit, but for
the price I figured it was still worth it:
- The headers were designed around a car with
manual brakes. My car has power brakes. I will be swapping to
manual brakes as part of this conversion.
- The header flange is designed for a wide
horizontal exhaust bolt pattern while my heads have a custom diagonal exhaust
bolt pattern. This means the existing flange will need to be replaced
with a new one.
- The kit was designed around an air-to-air
intercooler while I prefer to run a water-to-air. I've already sold the
air-to-air to help off-set the price of the kit, now some piping will need to
be fab'd up to replace it and mate the turbos to the air-to-water cooler.
- I'm not 100% happy with the size and routing
of the down-pipes so they'll be getting some attention too.
- I have no idea where the alternator will
mount. It's just one more thing to figure out once the headers and
turbos are mounted
Here's a picture of the Igloo:

The BS3 is on order, I'll post up more when it
gets here.
